Our promise

Renting your home from us means that you will be treated with dignity and respect. Sometimes we will have difficult and grown up conversations, especially if circumstances change or if behaviour causes grumbling from those that live around you.

We will always be calm and fair even when we have to be firm. When we have to explain anything legal to you we will use plain language providing that doesn’t change the legal meaning.

In return we ask you to treat us with the same respect and courtesy and if you need to have a difficult conversation with us keep calm and try to be as clear as you can.

If your circumstances change we promise to work with you and do all we can so you can stay in your home. We know that Housing Benefit or Universal Credit payments can fluctuate or change at short notice. We offer 1 to 1 training in budgeting and managing cash.

We know how the benefits systems work and we work directly with the Housing Benefit and DWP teams, so if payments do change, there is usually a good reason for it. We offer assistance with paperwork and can attend face to face meetings with benefits advisors to support you. If you are asked for paperwork by the government or asked to attend a meeting, we expect you to provide the paperwork and go to the meeting.

We weren’t born yesterday and we’ve heard all the excuses going but if you are fair and straight with us we will be fair and straight with you.
